Vegan Chocolate Fudge Cake http://www.chocolatecakerecipe.net
preparation time: 20 minutes
cooking time: 60 minutes
50g (2oz) cocoa powder
250g (8oz) plain flour
250g (8oz) sugar
125g (4oz) vegan margarine
300ml (½ pint) soya milk
30ml (2 tbsp) golden syrup
5ml (1 tsp) bicarbonate of soda
15ml (1 tbsp) vegan margarine
15ml (1 tbsp) icing sugar
5ml (1 tsp) of golden syrup
1 x 100g vegan chocolate bar
Mix soya milk and bicarbonate in a saucepan.
Add margarine, syrup and melt together.
Sieve all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
Add the wet ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Grease and line an 20cm (8") round cake tin.
Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 180°C / 350°F.
Reduce heat to 160°C / 300°F for approximately 60 minutes. (if skewer comes out clean the cake is ready)
For the icing melt ingredients slowly in a saucepan
Allow to cool and spread over chocolate cake
